Introducing: GAPScore
Green Assessment Potential Score
THE FIRST GREEN ASSESSMENT TEST FOR EXISTING SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS.
There are many shades of green in the world — and there are many shades of green in home design and construction.
GAPScore is the first — and only — assessment tool expressly designed to determine the "green index" of existing single family residential properties.
If you're a residential real estate professional, a home buyer or a homeowner planning to put your house on the market, GAPScore will give you the information you need to accurately assess a home's energy efficiency and environmental impact.
Buying a home?
Use GAPScore as your "green" checklist to make an informed decision about the environmental sustainability and energy efficiency of a prospective home.
Selling a home?
Studies show that 91 percent of all homebuyers will pay more for an energy-efficient home. Use your GAPScore to gain a marketing advantage over comparable but less energy-efficient houses in the same price bracket.

What makes a home green?
Here are just a few of the factors that our GAP assessment team takes into account when assessing the energy efficiency and environmental integrity of an existing home:
- A floor plan that maximizes natural daylight
- Design features that minimize heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter
- Sustainable and recyclable building materials
- Energy-efficient appliances, windows and water heating systems
- Low-flow showerheads, faucets and toilets
- Low-VOC paints,adhesives and finishes
- Proper ventilation for optimal indoor air quality
- Landscaping with native trees and other native plants
- Driveways constructed with gravel or other permeable materials
GAPScore will rank your home against homes that are currently on the market, as well as previous listings.
